Toast of the Devil

Here's to hate
here's to the slow draining of happiness
to the piece by piece dissection of your heart
to the loss of feeling in every limb
to the emptiness in your gut
to the depletion

Here's to hate
here's to the shrapnel's biased spread
to the civilian casualties of personal war
to the irrational charge of battle
to the selfish motivation
to the destruction

Here's to hate
here's to the chronic ache of pain
to the throbbing agony of each movement
to the ever growing spasms of life
to the bloating of self image
to the affliction

Here's to hate
here's to the squandering of your mind
to the reckless regard of daily decisions
to the bulging shame of memories
to the abandonment of reason
to the corrosion

Here's to hate
may it consume all people
forever
